Alicante Diputacion, together with Provincial Energy Agency and Alicante Natura, participated in Ecofira 2025, the International Fair for Environmental Solutions and Ecological Transition that took place from 11 to 13 November at Feria Valencia.

Ecofira, now consolidated as a key event in environmental innovation, brought together 250 exhibitors and more than 350 brands across 24,000 square metres. This year’s edition was held alongside four additional fairs: Efiaqua, Eco Chemical Solutions, Energy Global Expo & Congress, and Laboralia. With its own stand, Alicante Diputacion presented ongoing projects in energy efficiency, renewable self-consumption, sustainable mobility, and environmental management, reinforcing its commitment to improving a greener and more resilient territory.

The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Consell and various institutional representatives. Heading the Alicante delegation, the Environment  responsible, Magdalena Martínez, was accompanied by technical teams from the Provincial Energy Agency and Alicante Natura. The event was presided over by the Second Vice President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Vicente Martínez Mus, alongside Education conseller José Antonio Rovira and Innovation responsible Marián Cano.

During his speech, Martínez Mus highlighted the cooperation of more than 20 Spanish cities in waste removal efforts after the October 2024 floods, renaming it as “a network of 8,000 kilometres of cooperation and solidarity.” He stressed that the emergency waste-management contract, valued at 224 million euros, enabled the safe treatment of one million tonnes of waste, helping to prevent risks to public health and the environment.
