Renewable energy refers to energy obtained from natural sources that are capable of regenerating continuously, either due to the large amount of energy they contain or because of their natural ability to renew themselves. In addition, renewable energies have the advantage of being consumed largely in the same place where they are generated, which reduces transportation losses and the need to extract mineral resources, fluids, gases, or fossil fuels.
The Sun is the planet’s main source of energy and gives rise to various natural phenomena whose use results in renewable energies. Since, on a human scale, the Sun can be considered an inexhaustible source, renewable energies are also regarded as virtually inexhaustible.
Energy produced by the direct transformation of the sun's rays into electricity.
