PUBLEnEf Project

PUBLEnEf was a 3 year project (2016-2019) funded by the Horizon2020 programme of the European Union. The objective of this project was to help member states implement effective and efficient sustainable energy policies. The project, which the Energy Agency took part in, was aimed at helping policy makers use better practices and policies implemented in other member states on a national, regional and local level.

An  Action Plan was drawn up for the Alicante Province and the objective of this was to set up small wind turbines in coastal towns of the province. 21 towns with favourable conditions were chosen for this. Bearing in mind that two of the main smaller scale wind turbine manufacturers are located in the province, this plan would contribute to consolidating this industry and favour the production of distributed energy, renewable energy and the reduction of CO2 emissions.

In the Plan, which is available for consultation, three wind turbine models are studied and the impact on the town and the measures to be taken by the different key players involved in the implementation process are studied.
