SHERPA PROJECT

The Energy Agency collaborated in the SHERPA project on the energy potential of public buildings, among which were 5 from the Province of Alicante Government.

This collaboration was carried out by the Valencian Building Institute (IVE), project partner and had a work team made up of technical staff from the Agency, and from the Maintenance and Architecture departments of the Province of Alicante Government.

For the project, an energy study of around fifteen public buildings was carried out, 5 of them belonging to the Alicante Provincial Council: The Provincial Palace on Avenida de la Estación, the Technical Office located on Avenida de Orihuela, the buildings in Tucumán 8 and Tucumán 10 and the Doctor Esquerdo Psychiatric Hospital on Calle Ramón de Campoamor. At the end of the study, all of them obtained a roadmap for their energy improvement.

The SHERPA project was financed with European Regional Development Funds, through the Interreg MED Mediterranean Cooperation Program, which brings together partners from 6 countries: Spain, Italy, Malta, Greece, France and Croatia. Its general objective is to strengthen the capacities of public administrations at the regional and subregional level in order to improve energy efficiency in their public buildings and reduce CO2 emissions.
