Greetings from the President of the Alicante Provincial Council

Being environmentally friendly, protecting the region and advocating a clean, energetically sustainable environment, which promotes the use of renewable energy, have always been cornerstones of the political activities of the Alicante Provincial Council.

The Provincial Energy Agency is working on accomplishing this task; it researches into alternative solutions that favour the implementation of new natural, ecological and energy efficient resources, by promoting public awareness raising activities and campaigns, as well as keeping in touch with the local authorities, companies from the sector and the agents from the area.

Sustainability, rationalization, recycling, renewable energy and energy efficiency, along with small daily acts that turn into habits, enable us to achieve great things and enhance the natural potential of the province. As an advanced, environmentally friendly society, we believe in using solar thermal energy or photovoltaic energy, improving energy efficiency in public buildings and municipal facilities, as well as increasing the information available to raise the awareness of citizens and tourists about energy saving and consumption practices.

Work has to continue in all these fields and everyone has to get involved to make the world a better place for future generations, for a green, sustainable planet that can regenerate itself with the wealth of our land.
