The province of Alicante

The production structure of the Alicante Province shown on the graph highlights the considerable importance of the service sector (71%) and the hospitality subsector (11%) in particular.

The construction sector stands for 14% of the total production structure of the Alicante Province and it is ranked second in the order of importance. However, the activity in the construction sector has decreased significantly recently, which has resulted in it contributing considerably less to the provincial GDP.

The traditional Alicante industrial sectors such as footwear, textiles, toys, turrón, ceramics and marble are mostly low energy intensity when it comes to their energy consumption, which is demonstrated by the fact that only 16% of the final energy consumed is used in Alicante industry.
